ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY

The abbreviation ‘OPJS University’ stands for ‘Om Parkash Jogender Singh University’. OPJS University is established under the act 16 of 2013 made and promulgated on 2nd Day of August, 2013 by Hon’ble Governor of Rajasthan State. This University is spread over 32 Acres of land surrounded by Aravali Hills in pollution free, lush green and eco friendly environment. We have taken utmost care not to disturb the ecological balance of the area due to erection of buildings and other infrastructures. Equal importance is also given to the flora and fauna of the area. The overall environment of the university is conducive to education as it is far away from the humdrum, and the fret and fever of the modern life. The campus has all basic amenities for the students. There is no need to go outside the university campus for his/her daily needs. Keeping in mind the geographical and topological conditions of the area in mind, we have developed our building where much emphasis is laid on energy saving and water harvesting. We have also constructed ample number of the residence and hostel for our facilities, staff and students.

ABOUT MOOT COURT COMPETITION

Today in present era of legal education in moot court is very important. It helps student to learn about the practical knowledge of court. It makes student capable to learning about legal profession. Today in many institutions, they don't teach about the practical knowledge of the court.

The Bar Council of India, New Delhi has insured communication LE (Cir. No. 4/1997) dated 21st October 1997, the revised curriculum for three year and five year law course for implementation by the academic year 1998-1999, which include instruction:

  • Moot court, pre-trail preparation and participation in trail/proceeding observance of trail in court.
  • Attaching with the chamber of the senior advocate
  • Viva-voce test along with written examination .For law student, courts and chambers of advocates are the places of pragmatic learning. Indeed clinic legal education is an inducement in this direction and a great step for preparing lawyers of tomorrow.

We hope that the Moot Court Competition will constitute significant contribution to the knowledge to prepare the students to be a good advocate.

The Organising Committee of the Seminar is pleased to invite prospective advocates to prepare them for building their career in the legal field.

Expected Outcomes

Moot court may help in learning the manner of dealing with the court. They may have the practical knowledge of the importance of bring respect to the court. Moot court is an art which the student will follow for the rest of the professional career and will acquire new knowledge and skill by combining previous experience, new information and practical application. Hence learning by doing has been part of legal education since its very beginning.
